Dr. Daniel Alexander is the founder of Finger Lakes Bone and Joint Center and Open MRI of the Finger Lakes. Dr. Alexander sold the practice and the Open MRI to Rochester Regional Health in 2016. Born and raised in Buffalo and a former Lieutenant in the Buffalo Fire Department, Dr. Alexander received his medical degree from the State University of New York at Buffalo. His orthopedic training was completed at Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit, Michigan. Dr. Alexander specializes in joint replacement surgery, sports surgery, including arthroscopy of the shoulder and knee and rotator cuff repair. He also specializes in orthopedic trauma, hand surgery, and takes care of many work related injuries. He works at Newark Wayne Community Hospital and Clifton Springs Hospital. Dr. Alexander resides locally with his wife Gail and his four children.
As a Fellow of the American Academy of Orthopedics Surgeons, Dr. Daniel Alexander stays on the cutting edge of Orthopedic care in the Finger Lakes. Besides being an Orthopedic surgeon, Dr. Alexander’s personal passion is philanthropy .
Most recently Newark- Wayne Hospital has named their E.R. department after Dr. Daniel Alexander. Dr. Alexander made the largest donation in the history of Newark-Wayne Community Hospital — and the hospital has named its new emergency department in his honor. The hospital is paying tribute to one of the community’s most respected and accomplished physicians, for donating more than $500,000 for this new ER. Dr. Alexander recently donated $1,000,000 to the University of Buffalo Medical School, his alma mater. This scholarship will allow students from the inner city to attend UB Medical School. He also donated $1,000,000 to the Seneca Babcock Community Center in his childhood neighborhood in Buffalo, NY, in order to build a new community center.
Christopher Brown, MD
A specialist in sports medicine focusing on the shoulder and knee, Dr. Brown has had the opportunity to work at a variety of world class institutions while providing care for athletes both on and off the field. Dr. Brown also serves as the medical director for Rochester Regional Health Sports Medicine. Dr. Brown completed his orthopedic residency at the top ranked Duke University Medical Center. Here he received training in all areas of orthopedics while participating in team physician coverage for two local high schools, North Carolina Central University and Duke University.
Dr. Brown elected to pursue subspecialty training in Sports Medicine and was selected to attend the world-renowned Stanford University Fellowship Program in California. For one year, he trained with orthopaedic surgeons in the treatment of complex knee and shoulder problems. During this time he worked with elite athletes as he provided team physician coverage for the National Football League’s San Francisco 49er’s as well as the NCAA Division I Stanford Cardinal’s. When not providing clinic care for his patients, Dr. Brown’s research work has been published in book chapters as well as research journals.Dr. Brown returns to Western New York to practice sports medicine at the Finger Lakes Bone and Joint Center. His interests include ACL or PCL reconstruction, cartilage replacement procedures, arthroscopic rotator cuff repair, and arthroscopic shoulder stabilization.
David Cywinski, MD
Dr. Cywinski, raised in Buffalo, NY, has an interesting background which includes 14 years as a Fayetteville, NY firefighter and as a paramedic instructor at SUNY Health Science Center.
His BA degree in Biology was obtained at the State University of New York College at Buffalo. He received his medical degree at SUNY Health Science Center in Syracuse in 2000. He then completed a dual residency in Internal Medicine and Pediatrics at the University of Rochester/Strong Memorial Hospital and is Board Certified in both. Dr. Cywinski has joined Finger Lakes Bone and Joint Center, LLP to practice non surgical orthopedic medicine.
His interests are hunting, fishing and the outdoors. He also was a National Rugby Player and will practice sports medicine. He would be happy to take care of your orthopedic or sports problems and injuries. Dr. Cywinski lives locally with his family.
Peter Stasko, DPM
Peter Stasko, DPM is board certified in foot, reconstructive rear foot, and ankle surgery through the American Board of Foot and Ankle Surgery. He is also a fellow of the American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons.
Peter Stasko, DPM, completed his undergraduate studies at SUNY Brockport where he majored in Biology and minored in Chemistry, and his medical schooling was completed at Des Moines University College of Podiatric Medicine and Surgery. His three year foot and ankle residency training was completed at the top ranked Western Pennsylvania Hospital Foot and Ankle Surgical Residency in Pittsburgh, PA where he served a chief resident. He then completed a one year intensive foot and ankle fellowship at the Mon Valley Foot and Ankle Reconstructive Fellowship with The Orthopedic Group in Pittsburgh, PA. Here he focused on all aspects of foot and ankle surgery with advanced reconstruction, arthroscopic procedures, and trauma.
Peter Stasko, DPM has multiple publications in the Journal of Foot and Ankle Surgery and other publications as well as numerous research presentations and lectures focusing on his training in foot and ankle reconstructive surgery.
Paul Stasko, DPM
Paul Stasko is a Doctor of Podiatric Medicine who completed undergraduate at SUNY Brockport where he played Varsity ice hockey and earned his degree in Biology.He attended podiatry school at Des Moines University-College of Podiatric Medicine and Surgery.After podiatry school, Dr. Stasko completed his surgical residency at Geisinger- Community Medical Center in Scranton, PA where he received training in all aspects of podiatry and foot and ankle surgery including reconstructive foot and ankle surgery, wound care, forefoot surgery, diabetic foot care and podiatric medicine.
Following residency, Dr. Stasko completed the foot and ankle deformity correction fellowship in Baltimore Maryland at the Rubin Institute for Advance Orthopedics-International Center for Limb Lengthening-Sinai Hospital.Here, Dr. Stasko received extensive training in deformity correction of the foot and ankle, revisional surgery, and further training in all aspects of podiatric medicine.Dr. Stasko lives locally with his wife and is a native of Batavia, NY.
Jessica Nackley, PA
Jessica Nackley, PA, was born and raised in New York Mills, NY. She obtained her Bachelors degree in Biology with a Chemistry minor at St John’s University in Queens, NY. After completion of her undergraduate studies, she worked as an EMT-B and as an Emergency Room Technician for the next year.
She then completed her Masters of Science Degree in Physician Assistant Studies at Arcadia University at the Christiana Campus in Delaware, graduating as a Program Scholar. Following graduation, Jessica worked at Bayhealth Medical Centers Emergency Departments in Smyrna, Milford and Dover, Delaware. With a majority of her coverage at Kent General in Dover, a Trauma Level III ER.
Jessica is certified in advanced cardiac life support and basic life support.
Nick Zelie, PA
Nicholas Zelie, PA-C, is a board certified Physician Assistant from Buffalo, NY. Nicholas attended Mercyhurst University in Erie, PA where he received a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology. He then attended Chatham University in Pittsburgh, PA where he earned a Master of Science degree in Physician Assistant Studies.
During his studies, Nicholas gained experience across a variety of surgical subspecialties, including orthopedics.
He works closely with the physicians of Finger Lakes Bone and Joint Center, LLP in both outpatient and inpatient settings to provide high quality patient care and assists with surgical procedures. In his free time, Nicholas enjoys all outdoor sports including wakeboarding, skiing, and motocross. He lives locally with his wife.
Erin Kearns, PA
Erin Wilkinson, PA, graduated from D’Youville College in 2013, receiving a Master’s degree in Physician Assistant Studies with honors.
Erin joined the Finger Lakes Bone & Joint Center team in 2014 and continues to enjoy working in the Finger Lakes region to provide treatment for any orthopedic injury.
